HUBUNGAN SHIFT KERJA DENGAN STRES KERJA PADA KARYAWAN DI PT.”X” KOTA BATAM TAHUN 2023
Abstract
Background: Working shift system has been applied by the company in order to increase the product to the maximum. Incapability in adjusting self to the shift which has been applied can trigger stressful condition on employees. This study aims to determine the relationship between working shifts with work stress on employees at PT.X Batam 2023.
Method: This research used analytical observational study design with cross – sectional approach. The total sample was 152 respondents, divided into 76 day shifts and 76 night shifts, Data was collected through the provision of job stress questionnaire and category shifts. Univariate analysis presented in frequency distribution tables and bivariate analysis using Pearson Chi Square test with computer system.
Results: The results showed respondents working in the morning shift experienced mild stress as much as 39 respondents (51.3%), those who were experiencing medium stress were 35 respondents (46.1%) and those who were experiencing severe stress were 2 respondents (2.6%). Respondents who worked on the night shift experienced mild stress as much as 19 respondents (25.0%), employees who were experiencing medium level stress were 48 respondents (63.2%) and employees who were experiencing severe stress were 9 respondents (11.8%). The test result from the Pearson chi-square statistic calculation obtained p value = 0.001.Thus, it can be concluded that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted which means there was a significant relationship between working shifts with work stress on employees at PT. "X" Batam 2023.
